Agrobank Short Documentary

Agrobank was established in 1969 with focus on the agriculture sector. On 2021, they organised a national event titled “Agrobank Short Video Contest” that received participation from over 120 production teams from all around Malaysia. The contest successfully provided exposure to plenty of agricultural businesses that were mostly affected by the pandemic.

We spent 3 days in Teluk Senangin to produce a documentary about the lifestyle of the fishermen there. Since we have a good relationship with Persatuan Aktivis Sahabat Alam (KUASA), we sought their help to connect us with the leader, Mr Safie. B-rolls and talking heads, with some guided questions, could do the work, we thought. But, as we worked on the post-production, we discovered a slightly different perspective that might win the competition.

The complete edit was around 2 hours. For the competition, we had to cut it short to 3 minutes.

We won the competition, brought back home a prize money of RM 5, 000 and a mission to win more contests.
